Find a pair before starting a chain

Choose an outward block whose route is clear, then look for a second block aimed through the square it will vacate. This pair gives the chain a reason to begin and a result you can check.

If no follow-up appears, compare another legal block. Removing a bottleneck usually creates better flow than clearing a piece unrelated to the rest of the gallery.

Let the board set the tempo

Complete one movement before entering the next choice. The gallery may reframe, settle, or expose a new relationship that your original rhythm did not include.

Continue only while the board matches the route you anticipated. When it does not, stop the chain and read again; that pause protects the progress already made.

Expand the field, then accelerate

Wider open areas reduce ambiguity and make future exits easier to see. Prioritize moves that lengthen a shared lane or split a dense cluster into smaller groups.

Once the board has room, short chains become obvious and speed follows naturally. Pace is the result of clear routing, not a substitute for it.
